# African AI Governance Index (AAGI)

> Independent, evidence-based index measuring AI governance readiness across all 55 African Union member states through 8 pillars and 80 indicators.

AAGI is a research initiative that tracks national AI strategies, policy frameworks, infrastructure, talent, incidents, and data governance across Africa. The platform provides open, citable data for policymakers, researchers, journalists, and institutional investors.
